Dr. Michael Civin: Author, Psychologist, and Advocate for Mental Health

Dr. Civin currently serves as a senior psychologist at Rose Hill Psychological Services, an award-winning, community-based mental health center in the Bronx, New York City. As one of the organization’s co-founders, he has helped establish a practice committed to delivering high-quality psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to the local community. Alongside his work at Rose Hill, he has maintained a private practice since 2007, serving patients in Manhattan, Astoria, and Bayville. His clinical expertise includes psychodiagnostics, adult psychology, adolescent psychology, group psychology, and professional supervision.
Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Civin has contributed to the broader psychological community as an author. After earning his A.B. degree with cum laude honors from Harvard College in 1968, he attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine before completing a Master of Arts at the University of Oregon. He later earned a second M.A. in Clinical Psychology, followed by a Ph.D. from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. In 1993, he completed a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, further strengthening his clinical qualifications.
